| How I can love God |
| During my childhood with my grandmother (Aleyamma)
I used to visit old people. |
| When we visited them Grandmother used to spend at least
half an hour with them, at this time most of them were reluctant to
speak. When we were about to leave them they would tell my grandmother
“Aleyamma, please pray for me to the Lord, to get a good death.”
Even though most of the people we visited were rich, I never found
any happiness in them. |
| During the period of my crisis I got the opportunity
to talk with people who were facing serious diseases. Most of them
said that even though they had money and other material things, they
were not at all happy. They said that they can’t take what they
have earned here on earth with them. Then what is the use of money
for them when they were dying? |
| I shared these experiences with one of our family priests,
who used to visit old people and pray for them. I asked him why people
are not happy with their hard earned wealth and position during the
time of their death. He replied that death is a reality that nobody
can escape. People like us are never prepared for this, we are only
keen to make money and fulfill other material needs, and suddenly
death comes. Then only we realize that we can’t take what we
have earned with us. Till then we forget about our Spiritual needs.
Then only we realize that what we have earned for years is not at
all the need for our Spirit. Then suddenly depression, despair, disappointment
conquers our mind like a heavy storm or gale. This situation stays
with us upto our death. This period varies from people to people.
For some people it is 2-3 days, for some people it is months and years.
This period will be a hell like situation. Father added that most
of these successful people view their life as 100% failure at the
time of their death. Jesus showed me through these situations, that
if I am not able to love God before my death then my situation also
may be like this. |
| During this period Jesus took me to Mathew 4:8. then
the Devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the
kingdoms of the world in all their greatness. “All this I will
give you,” the Devil said, “if you kneel down and worship
me.” |
| Then Jesus answered, “Go away, Satan! The Scripture
says, ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve only him!’
“ |
| Through this word Jesus explained to me that the Devil
will try to trap me by first showing me all my difficulties and then
he will shrewdly show my relatives, friends and other people’s
financial richness and tempt me to pray for financial prosperity. |
| Then I answered Jesus, this is what is really happening
in my mind now. |
| Jesus continued, if I try to pray for financial prosperity
then I am trapped in the Devil’s trap and unknowingly worshipping
the Devil. |
| Through this word Jesus made it clear to me what I
have to do is, “worship the Lord your God and serve only him”
not the Devil. |
| Then I asked Jesus how I can love God. Then Jesus took
me to John 4:23. “But the time is coming and is already here,
when, by the power of God’s Spirit people will worship the Father
as he really is, offering him the true worship that he wants. God
is spirit, and only by the power of his spirit can people worship
him as he really is.” |
| Jesus said “God is Spirit,” and in Genesis
1:27: it is written that God created human beings making them to be
like himself. That means my real identity is in the spirit. I can
love God only through my spirit not through my money and material
things. That is why the Psalms 50:8 sings like this: |
I do not reprimand you
because of your
Sacrifices
And the burnt – offerings you always
bring me
And yet I do not need bulls from your farms
or goats from your flocks |
| If my Spirit is controlled by the Devil’s knowledge
then my prayer with my mouth and body and my offerings will never
help me to love God, even if I pray and fast for hours and days. |
| But when my Spirit receives the Holy Spirit with the
help of prayers, Jesus mentioned in Mathew 7:12 and Mathew 5:44. Then
Jesus will root out the knowledge given by the Devil (through Eve
and Adam) in my spirit and then reveal in my spirit (with the help
of the Holy Spirit) |
» The knowledge about
the truth of God
» God’s love in Jesus
» Jesus |
| When this happens in my spirit, the power of God’s
Spirit is controlling my Spirit, and then my Spirit can love God with
the help of the power of God’s Spirit. Only with the help of
the power of God’s Spirit can my spirit worship the Heavenly
Father as he really is. God only wants worship, with the help of the
power of God’s Spirit. |
| When my spirit is filled with the knowledge about the
truth of God and God’s love in Jesus, then Jesus is revealed
in my spirit. From then on, I love God, myself and others. |
Jesus said in Mark 12:29: “The most important
one is this, Listen Israel! The Lord our God is the only true Lord.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with
all your mind and with all your strength. The second most important
commandment is this: Love your neighbour as you love yourself.”
And Jesus continued
“There is no other commandment more important than these two.” |
| Hearing this, the teacher of the Law said to Jesus
(Mark 12:33). It is more important to obey these two commandments
than to offer animals and other sacrifices to God. |
| Then Jesus replied, “You are not far from the
Kingdom of God.” |
| This will happen in me only when my spirit receives
the Holy Spirit. That is why Jesus said in Mark 10:27, “This
is impossible for man, but not for God: everything is possible for
God.” |
| When my spirit receives the Holy Spirit, then I am
receiving God. From that moment onwards I can love God, love myself
and love others. |
| It is written in Mathew 7:12: “Do for others
what you want them to do for you.” |
| If I want to love God then I have to pray for the whole
human race, starting from Adam and Eve. |
| From that moment with the help of Jesus, I thanked
God for the whole human race starting from Adam and Eve, loving God
with the power of God’s Spirit with all their hearts, with all
their souls, with all their minds, with all their strength and loving
themselves and others. |
