HOW JESUS TAUGHT ME TO OVERCOME MY HATRED

With the help of Jesus I asked for forgiveness
After Jesus destroyed the deep hatred in my mind, I wanted to visit the house of the person I hated. Binu and I decided to visit him on a Sunday. The day came and I still had the desire to go there, but my mind kept holding me back. This continued for weeks and months.
I told Jesus, “It is you who helped me to get rid of my misunderstanding about a punishing God, and you showed me a loving God. It is you who eliminated hatred from my mind, so please help me now.” Then Jesus showed me Mathew 7:1, “Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for God will judge you in the same way as you judge others and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others.”
Jesus was telling me in Mathew 7:5: “You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye and then you will able to see clearly enough to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
These verses showed me I was on the wrong track when I judged a person. Jesus was persecuted by his own people, but he never judged or hated anyone.
Now I asked forgiveness from God for judging another person and for hating him. Then in my prayer I asked for forgiveness from the person I judged and hated.
I do not know what happened, but within a month we were able to visit the house of the man I once hated and ask for his forgiveness. From that moment I felt somebody had taken a large weight off my mind.
At this stage, I was only able to ask for forgiveness of the person I had judged and hated but I was not able to actually forgive him. Later I was able to forgive, and that is another experience.
